102 – CATOBAR – External Light Management

External Light Management

Both in Trainings and Cyclic Operation the external light management bonded to strict rules.

Day time operations

  • EXTERIOR LIGHTS MASTER SWITCH: OFF
  • POSITION LIGHTS: BRT
  • STROBE LIGHTS: OFF
  • FORMATION LIGHTS: OFF
  • TAXI LIGHT: OFF

Note: During day time turning lights ON means loss of break pressure

Night time operations

  • EXTERIOR LIGHTS MASTER SWITCH: OFF
  • POSITION LIGHTS: BRT
  • STROBE LIGHTS: OFF
  • FORMATION LIGHTS: OFF
  • TAXI LIGHT: OFF

Note – Night time on the CAT Exterior Lights ON = SALUTE, therefore once hooked up Exterior Lights Master Arm to ON position

Note – During the approach, exterior lights should be ON except the taxi light. As soon as arrested Exterior Lights Master Arm to OFF position

During both Day and Night operations EXTERIOR LIGHTS MASTER SWITCH to ON position once hooked up on catapult and ready for launch.
