RTC – MOD-04 – Pt.03 – When and Who Talks to the Ground Controller
Only the Formation Lead should communicate with the Ground Controller, others should monitor.
The Ground controller should be contacted before any part of a formation Taxis from their start location, or once clear of the runway.
No movement should be conducted without permission of the Ground Controller.
If the formation is split up on spawn, the Formation Lead should ascertain the location of all members of the formation. Once it is determined which members of the formation are split off, the Formation Lead will contact the Ground Controller and request taxi, stating that they are split up, and the location of the Elements, not each individual aircraft. You will be given permission to taxi as a group, and so should not be talking to ground as individual elements, unless the Ground Controller requests.
